my neighbor asked me how old these were, from the BSA sticker, and bicentennial -ish decals i figured mid 70s, anyone know what years old #9 sold his name to Sears ???

well ted sold his name long before those bikes came along. i have ted williams pellet guns from the 50's (made for sears)

i think they started making those bikes in australia back in the early 70's.
 
yeah, I remember those from around '76. Gotta love the zinc plated headset parts (chrome was obviously too expensive to meet the price point). And I also remember laughing about the "Free Spirit" name, as that was also (previously) used by a bra company for their product.
 
Wow, I just put one of those near my dumpster last night after appropriating the seat from it. It was part of a package deal. That thing is super cheaply made.
