I've been meaning to post this for awhile. I picked this spaceliner up in Austin a few weeks ago and finally got it cleaned up and adjusted. It is a nearly complete original condition; original tires, horn and tank light are working. I'm hoping to upgrade to a spaceliner springer fork if someone knows where I might find one. Also missing the plastic piece for the chain ring and rear reflector, so need to find those, too. Owner said the seat is original, but I don't think it is.

Yeah, looks like it sold. I sent a PM in case the first guy doesn't come though. You gotta be fast around here.

I have this available. I'm not sure if all the covers are the same, as these were sold through several different stores. Needs re-chromed, $5 plus shipping. LMK

Cool bike ..All I can say is good luck with it....And.......I WANT ONE TOO....

Thanks for the info everyone.

I just bought a 2-speed kickback hub. Am I right that this was an option on some of the deluxe models?

Floyd, PM sent on the plastic piece. I figure I can paint it to look like new. Does it still have the plastic nubs that hold it on?

That's a great looking Spaceliner. 8) The seat on mine is different and I believe it is stock, too. It's got a crash rail and chrome trim around the bottom of it. It also looks like yours and mine have the horn button and headlight switch on opposite sides.

Yeah, each year model was a little different. Plus they had standard and deluxe models for some years. I'm thinking mine is from a later year when they started to cheap out on the seat construction. My favorite spaceliner is the 1960, which has a really unique tank design, as shown below. If you have one of these, it's worth some big bucks:

Cool! Seat is most likely original as mentioned and my springer fork did sell, sorry, it would have been great for this bike.

Not trying to steal your thunder, but here's mine. I think it's a '64, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

I'm pretty sure yours is a '66. it's identical to the one I got for my 8th birthday (and sadly sold, in my ignorance, later in life). I put a lot of miles on that baby on the fire roads in the hills of Marin County CA, long before the idea of a mountain bike was a glimmer in Gary Fisher's eye. I guess you could say with the springer fork and sprung seat, it was the forefather of today's full suspension bike.

Here's a link to pics of a '64 (no comparison with yours) http://www.trfindley.com/pgspclnr.html
