Do the rear dropouts on a Sears Spaceliner detach at all?

I see in some photos it looks like there's a bolt or something at each point where the frame meet the dropout

can they be removed and reattached?

No and no.

Unless you want to cut them off and re weld them back!

No, they are crimped and welded just like most bikes.

Not off hand. But there are plenty of examples where people have bolted on droput extensions here on RRB.

Just newer stuff that allows you to switch between a horizontal dropout for single or internal gear hubs and a horizontal drop with derailleur hanger.

I just remembered seeing some older european frames where the seat stays are bolted on, though the dropouts stay attached to the chain stays.
