Seat post question

I want to fit an old 1940's Schwinn frame with a new seat post. What size do I need to buy? I don't have a micrometer to measure and I figured someone here already knows. Thanks!

The seat posts I'm looking at coming in MM sizes... what does that convert to?

You wont' find a modern seatpost for these frames with the integrated clamp.. The best you can do is order a Wald with 7/8" for using the larger post mounted clamp.

What you probably want to do is have Chad build one for you. He can make them 13/16 at the bottom, and 7/8 up top so you can put a modern seat on there. He can also put a little bend in the seat post, too. I have two of his posts, and another three on order.
