You ever get the urge to sell your stuff?

The bike situation in my garage is getting out of hand. I'm not the hoarding type so when stuff sits around too long and just collects dust I get the urge to sell.

So far this month I've sold the following...

- Surly Big Dummy
- Ruff Cycles Frame
- Red Mongoose Beast

Once you start selling, the space opens up and money is in your hand....you just feel like you need to keep on going.

I've probably got 5 or 6 more that I'd like to get rid of, but I need to pace myself so I don't end up giving myself too much to do.

My problem is every time i sell something , there is a void i have to fill. :|

Well, our good friend Henry Morgan bought the red beast from me.

All I did was take it out of the box, lube the bearings and park it in my garage so technically it's never even been used. :D

I'm thinking of selling off my Phantom, B6, BA107 and my DX. Need to free up some room in the basement. Gary

Whenever I drive 2 or 3 hours to a swapmeet, I try to take some do-dads to sell and make gas money home within the first 30 min. of being there. Every thing else I sell just adds to the profit. Thanks!!!

I'm with you Steve. The inventory creeps up, then it's time to sell a few. I'm doing that now. Sold one last night. Have another listed. Two more to follow.

I only have limited space to keep my "riders" around. But I haven't really sold any of my old bikes yet. I am always selling off flip bikes and other bike stuff though.

The maroon and cream 107 :?: :!:

Jeremy, I'll make you a brother-in-law deal on the 107. You need to come and look at it in person though. It's really a total piece of junk and I doubt you'd want it. 8) :p  Gary

My basement is filling up. But I can't decide what to part with. They are all like children to me.

And that's how the hoarding began....

I tend to get attached to (almost) everything I buy; I guess if I didn't have some sort of visceral attraction to it, I wouldn't have bought it in the first place.
However...things were getting a little out of hand; less than two years ago, I had over 35 bikes (all running and useable). While my better half is usually pretty accepting of my little "hobbies", she'd made a couple of off-hand comments about the sheer quantity, which was spilling over into my office and warehouse due to lack of room left in the house!
So, I was down to a "mere" 15 as of a couple of weeks ago, having sold off or given away quite a few that weren't quite so dear to me, but in the past two weeks I've added two more to the stable (just HAD to have that goofy Mongoose Beast!), so I may be back on the path to Hoarder again already!

Its funny , I'm 17 years older than this wife. I looked and I had so much bike stuff ,I wondered
what she would do with all of it if something happened to me. I sold a bunch and then hit the
metal guy with the rest. I threw away a bunch of frames and stuff. That time I threw away everything in sight
After the big clean , I thought why was I worried, I would be dead
and she would just have to deal with it. So

I'm starting to have the age thoughts also. Hoping to sell a few this weekend. I've sold a few through an antique store over the last year. Don't like the consignment fee, but haven't wanted to mess with Craig's List or eBay. My problem in flipping bikes is that I put cleanup time and parts in them which limits possible profit. I like selling usable bikes though. I also need to quit dragging them home. But I keep looking for that find of a lifetime. I have avoided buying a Beast so far.
