She just texted warning me that if I want to avoid court I will deliver the bike to the elderly woman's house but will receive the $75 I originally wanted. I guess she really is clinically insane. I texted her that I would love to waste gas to lose money on a bike and risk my safety by delivering it to an unknown residence under unknown circumstances, but I'm just swamped with other bad decisions right now.

The sarcasm...it's bleeding through my screen....

I'm not even going to reply. This is her first text for the day. I think she is starting to tire. It's over. I just figured I'd share that text to illustrate for others who are thinking of conducting a CL sale at their home. PSA: THIS CAN HAPPEN TO YOU

This is the best idea. Just completely, flat-out ignore any future interaction she tried to have with you. No answer at-all. Do not feed this monkey, and it will eventually head back to the jungle to find more bananas.

what a bummer this turned out so stressful for you.

I used to sell CL stuff from my home, but since getting married, my wife will have none of that. I guess this is why. Now I meet people at a local gas station on a very busy street.

I have realized that even if she were nutty enough to try to take this to court, I now hold the cards. When she said she was sending a man to pick up the bike, she negated our deal, which was contingent on possession of this bike being transfered solely to an elderly woman. That's the only reason I did the work or lowered the price. No more texts or calls, I think (or hope) that she gave up.

If she does bother you more, just post her number on here and a couple hundred peeps will blow up her phone.
Or not?

Many like to do business in the walmart parking lot, plenty of witnesses and a hundred cameras. I sold 2 new rudders to a catamaran boat, at a very good price, even included closeups in the ad. The nutcase who bought them wanted to send one back and get half his money back. Then he emailed 50 times a day for a week and finally went away. I think these people thrive on thinking they got over on someone, even 5 or 10 dollars. They are pitiful and have no life otherwise. They won't ever take anything to court, but probably are trying to scam something from someone everyday.
