Sticking my little toe into the boardtracker realm. Started with this Sears coaster brake find. Stripped the paint and did a rattle-can paint job. Kept the unusual gray tires, painted the wheels and spokes, handle bars. New copper riveted seat from eBay. Still a work in progress, ideas welcome. Here are the before and after pics.

Take a look at 'English Path Racer; pics online, the stance is similar but for your setback saddle. It was common to invert the common 'Northroad' bars (that we are all used to seeing on the typical English 3spd's) and they are quite comfortable that way.
Nice, classy conversion.

I imagine most of us are here because we are more than a little 'romantic' about our machines :D . Im sure you will find a 'compromise' that works for you. FWIW, I cant lean over too far due to an old neck injury, so trying to kick my head back is a problem, but like a 'lowish bar' look. I use a tall quill and get the stem far enough out to fit my reach; even with inverted bars I am still not bent over too bad and it looks racer.
