Shelby Flying Cloud! "Bare Bones Flying Cloud"

Haven't posted in a while, so, thought I would!
A cool little pick up in Haysville yesterday! Shelby Flying Cloud! bare bones, bare metal. Plans are! Going to leave it bare metal, but change out, seat, seat post, bars and grips, and tires. Even though the chain guard is not original, I think it looks killer on the bike!!

The Mock up begins! On the "Bare Bones Flying Cloud". Cool salty early long spring, and mustache bars to start!! Having some fun with this one, even though I should be working on other things!

Some dirty, slightly used cream shoes, really set off the bare metal! The "Bare Bones Flying Cloud" is taking shape quickly!

The "Bare Bones Flying Cloud" is coming along nicely. Got the aluminum cut for the upper bars filler. Now for some minor shaping, and making the hangers! Then graphics.

Spent some time today working on mounting the filler aluminum, and getting it like I want it. WWII leather straps off an officers mail pouch, once trimmed, and fitted, look killer!

I can see the similarities, but not a Schwinn guard.

Agreed, didn't see his comment. These guards were a period after market/accessory, not sure of manufacturer. Pretty sure it Wasn't Wald. I do know, nice ones are getting hard to find.

Velo Orange used to have those guards, but don't have them on their website now.

Got the old glass headlight (came off a 30's Mead) and home brew bracket fitted to the bike. Headlight is going to need some steel wool, and clean up, but the baffled glass lens is killer. Presently working on graphics as well.
