Shifter swap help

All you need at the hub end of the cable is bare wire.

So cut the rest? How would I attach it to the nexus gear selector in the rear?

I think I got it.. looks like I don’t use the end of it just the shifter and the wire right?
Don’t use the part in these photos

I know the one Horsefarmer was showing will work
and will attach to the handlebar stem .
I did it on old contest bike .
