shimano nexus 3speed coaster brake to freewheel

can I just pull the brake shoes out to make this hub freewheel?

Pretty unlikely. While not familiar specifically with a Nexus, on every coaster brake I have dealt with, the bendix will unscrew without the brake internals. You could probably make a stop with some tubing and washers, maybe a spring. :|

i took the pads out and put a sprin on the axle in between and it actually worked out as a freewheel. but thats just me :mrgreen:

Why not trade with someone on here with a freewheel?
That way two people are happy and the hub doesn't get trashed.
