I would have passed on it. Not that Shimano doesn't make a quality product, I am just not a fan.

Im not sure of how special this hub is, but how much were they asking for it?

looks like it was the rim brake version in which case it was prolly work $10 max (I wouldn't pay more than $2).

I do like my CB 3s though.

I ended up getting the thing for $5...
My single speed is shot right now and this seemed like an easy fix..

I'd pay a fiver for most any hub, just to have it in "inventory". It was worth $5, but I wouldn't have paid $10.

10 bucks if the rim is ok and the shifter parts are all there and goes into all the gears and you happen to need a wheel. 5 is even better! :wink: These are nowhere near as strong as the earlier coaster model or an English or German hub, but it'll do for a cruisin' bike. Don't forget you need to add a brake.
