DISCLAIMER:
I'll endeavour to get this monster rideable, but be warned, it might not get done due to my predicament of having to find another house to rent. I'll do stuff while I can but if the house I move to doesn't have the space (no garage etc) then it'll probably be sold off. However, since there's currently a rental housing shortage, it might take a while to find somewhere, so it might just get done.

Due to the above mentioned circumstances, you enter this thread at your own risk. I am not responsible for any sadness and despair that you endure through lack of closure due to the non-completion of Sidebolt, should that be the case.

Humble apologies

I saw the new WBO 2017 forum and seeing as it's the 1st of January here in NZ now, my 'youthful exuberance' got the better of me and I neglected to check the countdown clock...

Actually it was, but with this build-off we are running unfinished builds anyway, so start time is not overly important!

Thanks Pushie. Yeah, the brakes 'should' work okay but it's going to be somewhat scary I reckon pulling the brake lever with one hand while steering with the other. I might look at the possibility of having the brake foot actuated instead. After all, pedalling isn't required when stopping.

As you know, bicycles don't need a warrant of fitness, but I reckon I'll get some interest from the boys in blue due to it's size. I want to ride it through town at least once.

I haven't done much I'm afraid.

Chain alignment / tensioners made from a couple of old rubber grommet things and some washers and threaded rod...

Re-welded and extended the handlebar...

Added a guide for the brake lever...

Hopefully I'll get a bit of a test ride the length of the garage today.

I just now saw what you meant.

I had put "These photos were taken in October 2017 and show the current state of Sidebolt…" so I have edited that to read October 2016.
