sidecar guy from southern Alberta

this all started while looking for a project last fall. I was looking at trailers for my mountain bike so I go go for rides and take Maya our bull terrier along. Then one night I saw a sidecar for a dog, on pinterest and that started the wheels turning, but I couldn't find a design that was sturdy enough. After a lot more searching I came across a Scandinavian sidebike setup that looked about right but they don't sell too many and I like to build stuff. So that became my winter project. Now I find out this site is here and I can build a cool bike to go with my sidecar, we'll both be stylin'

Are the connections to the bike like 2 'hinge' type parts?

The hinge is a pair of rod ends, and the base it bolts to is an SMC air cylinder end. The whole rig is around 32 lbs and the fur kid is 48 lbs. maybe I should do a build thread on how it was made .

There's a video showing how the bike rides with the hinge, it's nice, you just have to be aware of the extra 80lbs when stopping and you only get so much lean on left hand turns.
