I just power read this whole thread. At one point in the last few years I had a large box of bike parts that I had drug around for years. Moving to the beach over 20 years ago simply altered my obsession towards surfing and away from bikes. I gave away bikes, cranks, brakes, Bendix hubs, and then when after I left a box of MTB cranks and XTR v-brakes and other random bike items in my front yard for free for like 2 weeks I, please don’t judge me, threw it away. This place is rekindling a fire I once had. The fabrication is mind blowing! I feel like my throwing $, albeit researched and discount when possible, at my build is silly in comparison and not even in the same league. In 1995 I went to the UBI in Ashland,OR. to take their lugged and brazed frame building class. I built a single speed frame with Geometry based around the RockShox JudySL. I know what it takes to fabricate something good, you guys are mind blowing! I never built it into a running bike It sits in my shed occasionally mocking me. I left it on the Roof of my Honda Civic after pulling it out of storage in 1998 and bent the BB. Anyway I’m rambling...

Nice story Surfklunk! Everyone has thrown stuff away they'd wish they didn't...

Slowly working on a sissy bar / fender support / tail lamp bracket. Still have some work to do but the main pieces are together. Went with square corners to flow with the handle bars. I need to cut a better radius in the fender then make some kind of bracket to tie sides of fender to sissy bar.

This thing looks sick, reminds me of a badass 80's chopper bike or the album cover of "Orange Goblin - Time Travelling Blues" if I see this picture :rockout:

Seems like there are fewer build comments this year. Plenty of build activity, but a great part of what makes the RRB Build Offs better than Facebook and Instagram "Like" generators is the discussions and feedback and idea generation that usually occurs in the build threads. As you are scrolling through the build updates, don't forget to give feedback while you are clicking on the emojis. :D

I would like to comment a lot more, but I speak English very badly ...

@léocwc don't hesitate to comment! We'll try to communicate. You have skills! Share the knowledge! And @SurfKlunk that box of XTR and MTB cranks? I've been trying to find it ever since you tossed it! Now, about that Civic... And I am also quite skill-less when it comes to bikes. Trust me, your welding class puts you exactly one class ahead of me. That's what is great about this place; room for all levels of Ratters.

Of all the stuff I removed from that shed full of stuff the Bendix hubs and one brand new in the box 36h Bullseye freehub are at the top of the list of what the hell was I thinking decisions.

Kingfish is trying to add a cosplay requirement to the Build Off!
You should ... work up a diorama like scene with some material trailing from the wheels to look like burnout smoke. :D

And you dressed up and posed like one of your action figures.

Me, myself have been reading through threads, shamelessly stealing ideas for the future builds, digging on some bodacious builds, and flat out forgetting to give likes and comments that are well deserved. I'm still new at RRB and will make better efforts at remembering to play nice with others going forward.
