a guy i work with gave a girl i work with his 1984 Schwinn High Sierra.
she couldnt reach the pedals. she is only like 5'-2".
i told her i would take it off her hands and build her a bike better suited for her.
i found this bike, pretty sure its a murray, but could be a WF with a murray chainring.
$20 on CL.
when i brought her home.
so i stripped it down to the frame/fork.
ended up cutting off one of the pedals cuz it was impossible to get off.
i got the frame/fork powder-coated a sweet candy blue and the tank just a metallic silver.
i decided to leave the tank off though. i liked it better without it.
the whelset is newer...24" aluminum rims with shimano hubs.
i replaced the bmx stem with a riser stem.
rat trap pedals off an old road bike.
cruiser bars with black grips.
i am going to get it to her in a few days.
i just won a complete tank on epay for $5 with the front piece. if it fits, i may install it.
its a simple build, but i like it. the candy blue really sparkles in the sunlight.
i think she will like it.
