Thought I would show off my latest completed project. It started as a cheap Wal-Mart Mt. bike that my buddy gave me. It had a badly bent rear wheel and a pedal had been broken off. I decided that I would make a 29'er. Actually the wheels are 700c that I got on the cheap, aero road wheels but anyway. Found some cheap tires Kenda Kwick 700x30c from ebay and I was set on wheels and tires. I dug through some of my junk and found a BMX crankset that I thought would work and it did. Cheap freewell 17 tooth gear and I was in motion. Little more digging and I found a Bontrager crow bar handle bars, and Shimano levers in motion and upgraded steering and levers. A little more cleaning, grease, removal of decals and a new suspension set post, rear rack, bottle cage and pump and I have a cheap single speed 29'er for dirt road travels.
