I'm on my way home from Colorado last Monday its lunch time Im in the middle of Iowa and I see a Maid-Rite sign. I usually stop at an old dive on 14th st in Des Moines it is not a franchise
for Maid-Rite any more but still serves the loose meat sandwiches . Mustard pickle and chopped onyon is the standard . Whell the sign sent me to a spankin new place all pretty and new same sandwitch but too sanitary and yuppifyed . I grew up about 2 blocks from one in Rockford Ill but its not there any more.My dad used to take us there most every Sat. for lunch. As I sat in the new place and thought about the old place an idea formed about a bike build a Maid-Rite delivery bike. Mine would have a tank plate on my 50's typhoon with the M-R logo and red and wlite checkered striping and rims with a red tray racked up on the front with a white or off white frame red glitter grips and a seat in red and white metalic to match the stools in the diner chrome for handle bars and seat post and a logo on the tray or a laminated paper tray liner from Maid-Rite .
