A few hours ago, I was at my aunts and down the road from her, there is a cwc womans hiawatha, adjustable dropouts, matching pearson pedals, the funky dual spring fork (shock ease?) wth the flared out truss rods, matching rack with flared out supports (rack isn't bent in). Orrignal matching green hiawatha script grips that are still rubber, and along spring troxel. The tank is still there, no dents and push button is still on it. Seeing as the owner's wife needs to think about a trade, I don't have the bike nor the S/N. can anyone help me with a rough id? I couldn't take any pictures. Can anyone help me out? Thanks!

Charlie

Sounds like you've got it pretty well ID'd. By the sounds of it, likely late 40s-early 50s. Nice bikes; I love my CWC built products.

EDIT: hey ratina, the forks are identical to the ones in your avatar.

Its all there except the headlight and mount  that's the only missing part I could see.

If the fork is original then it is from 50-54. Still without pictures its hard to put a price on it. It also depends on what you are buying it for? To fix, part out, etc?

When you see it next, check the serial under the bottom bracket. This era of CWC is about as easy to date as it gets. On the right side you'll either see ACw for '50 or '51, or 5XCw for any years thereafter (eg. 53Cw). Enjoy!

I'm buying it for my mom to use, there's a baloon tire ride coming up in september, and she's going to ride with me a a few friends. I'm going to keep it as a rat, allthough no guarentee's that the fork will stay on this bike
