Posted this in Bike ID forum to verify the year (I think it is a '47). The bike was poorly painted many years ago. It is a solid bike, but it is going to need some work. Its going to be a long term project. Looking for parts, banging around on it, looking for more parts, etc... :D

Yep, got my eyes out for a tank....I tore it own last night. The bike is in pretty good shape. The fenders have some bends, but I think I can make it nice again. One of the reasons I bought it is that it had been painted a couple of times, but strucurally it was sound. I wanted a bike to strip down, repaint, etc. I hate doing that to nicer bikes....but I also wanted something easy to find parts for and wouldn't cost an arm/leg to finish. Not to mention they just look cool.

I'm thinking about a white/black scheme with red lettering....
