Shirt Chaser was my first attempt at a "restoration". No, this is not a concourse restoration, the entire intent was to give this old bike new life so it could be ridden and enjoyed once more. I finished her up last Saturday, just in time for the Shiny Side Up show in San Jose.

She is a 1950's Mercury. Not sure of the exact date, but it belonged to the mother of the woman I got it from. As you can see from the before pic, she was in pretty rough, but salvageable, shape.

And here she is, ready for someone to ride.

I could not be happier with how she turned out. I posted an ad on Craigslist, and have gotten some interest, and the woman that I got it from originally is also interested in buying it. Should be gone from my stable in a week or so, and the Tri Valley Haven women's shelter should benefit to the tune of $200-250.

Great builds this year! I can't wait to get started on next year's build!

Nice color combo!

That is a excellent restoration and the chain guard looks better in its lowered location where you placed it. The red tires add to this build as well! good work
