i've had a matched set of n.o.s. uniroyal slicks (20x2.125 and 20x 1.75) for over a year now. i wanted to put them on my black lowrider, but they wouldn't fit. i think 2 slicks on that badboy would look slick as snot.

instead of hacking the bike to make em fit, i figured i'd use them for another build.(similar bike) moods change, ya spend too much time on rrb checking out cool bikes and well, on to bigger and better.lol
4 bikes later and there still just collecting dust.lol.
i recently picked up a fireball (raleigh) that will support the tires. i'm about this close>< to mounting them. :) before i go mounting these, i thought i'd ask. has anybody run slicks on the front?

will the front slick get chewed up fast due to turning? i dont want to ruin these unused 1970's tires for the sake of using them. :)
what do ya think? good idea or bad?
should i use em for another lowrider build? throw em on my fireball? or just use a slick on each of my muscle bikes? (1.75 fits the avenger,2.125 the fireball)

what says the pro's?

I would think it would make the front end a little squirrelly feeling, I wouldn't do it, but that's just my

looks and works great.

thats what i wanted to hear. :)

got a pic?

Looks good, no doubt... but rides good too? Maybe I'll have to reprogram my brain, it says no, that won't ride well.

How about a couple of shots of that sweet lil ccm lurking in the background?
If you ever decide to part with it, I personally think it would look right at home next to this;

I've never seen a dragster, hot rod, musclecar, or motorcyle with a slick in the front, so I think it sort of carries over to have a slick in the rear and a skinny round tire in the front on a bicycle.

Then again, I can appreciate the "steamroller look" that you get with two slicks.

Put it on, see what it looks like. And be careful about leaning it over in turns!

they needed to stay together cause they are such a nicely matched pair of tires, thats all. i doubt the fireball will be riden daily.

I like your Raleigh Fireball! I have a 1968 with a stick shift.

All depends on what you wanna do! If you just wanna go in a straight line, you only need slicks on the driving wheels. You wanna race around corners, you need slicks all round (assuming you on a dry racecourse! )

And I just had to post this one too! :D

Go on, run slicks both front and rear! She'll ride sweet as in the dry, but watch the front end - she'll slide out from under you in the wet! Wear rates for a minimally ridden bike (as youve already said it will be) will be minimal.
