Whats the best way to remove slime tubes with out making a mess. I had my son letting the air out of a set of them so we could see if regular tubes would give the bike their on a better ride and when he tried the green stuff came spraying out

If theres a hole in the tube than a mess is unavoidable. It will probably be all in the tire, etc. My recommendation for taking out the tube would just be to go outside, let the air out of it and pull it out. It'll make a mess but youll get it out and it wont ruin anything because your outside.

Try letting out the air while the valve is at the top of the rim.
But it's probably going to make a mess no matter what, so just don't do it in the living room. :D

yup yup, this is how I do it.

They remind me of the no air tubes of the 80s when I ride the bike their very heavy and dont have alot of give. I wouldnt have ever put them on a old cruiser. Not sure how he had the tire but going to have him try the valve at the top of the rim.

This works for me,conditions permitting. With wheel in upright position ,place the valve stem at about the 10 o'clock position and allow plenty of time for the slime to migrate down to the bottom of the tube. Unscrew the valve core just enough to allow the air to weep out, while holding a paper towel over it to catch the green stuff that will come out.Usually don't loose much.
