Slow Spokes DFW July 2014 Cruiser Ride – Arlington 4th of July Parade
Friday July 4, 2014, “Arlington, TX’s 4th of July Parade”
The “Slow Spokes DFW” cruiser bicycle club invites all fans of cruiser style bicycles (beach bikes, vintage bikes, ratrod bikes, kustom bikes, muscle bikes, etc.) to join them for a parade ride - the “Arlington, TX 4th of July Parade“ on Friday, July 4, 2014. What better way to get into the patriotic spirit than to kick off the holiday weekend with a parade?
This is Arlington’s 49th annual parade and it’s one of the largest in the country. 150 floats are expected with nearly 3,000 people participating. This year’s parade theme is “Made in America - Celebrating Ingenuity.” The parade is televised so let’s get those bikes well decorated and show off our great Slow Spokes DFW spirit!
We will meet in the parking lot located at the S. W. corner of S. West Street and Doug Russell Road, Arlington, TX. The city will start to close down streets for the parade around 7:30 AM. Therefore, let’s meet no later than 7:30 AM and start to head towards the staging area across from the parking lot around 7:45 AM. The parade rolls out at 9:00 AM and should be done by 11:30 AM.
Helpful parade information:
· Gabe Vara is the official Slow Spokes DFW parade marshal and responsible for our group. Gabe may be reached on his cell phone, (682) 552-4182, if you have any concerns.
· Parade entries must be decorated to either depict the parade theme or, at least, be decorated in red, white and blue.
· No handouts or giveaways of any kind are permitted during the parade.
· All kids must wear a bicycle helmet per the Arlington Helmet Ordinance.
