this was my favorite build of this year. it was pretty much finished in late april, right before the buildoff, and i never got around to taking the final pics. i had seen some other bare metal bikes done, and wanted to give it a try. so here it is in all its monochromatic glory! :D

nice really like the looks of this 1 nice and sturdy lookin !did you have that chaingaurd chromed ?looks great remindes me of a big ole caddilac ! 8)

the chainguard was a chrome re-pop,that was much cheaper than finding a decent straight one! :D funny you should mention the big ol cadillac,as ive got a shelby made mid 30`s cadillac tall mans single bar framed bike! it towers over the schwinn.

stretch, im not really sure! its thick and grainy, almost like canvas or something. its a persons seat, and does not look like its been re-covered. maybe someone will know?

so where on earth did you find that chaingaurd ,? i could use one of those !

there was an ebay link in the orignal build post, but when i clicked on it, it did not work anymore! i think it was about $30-35,best i can remember.

Another nice example of you having a plan before you start. Like I said before several of you have a vision of what its going to look like before you start. I dont have that talent ....wish I did. Bike turned out really well ...like all your builds.

Nice and simple....Looks elegant. That stem is cool how the lines match the handlebars. Where did it come from as MTB stems usually won't fit in a Schwinn Fork?

clancy, that stem is from a road bike! its actually had 4 different lengths of stems since the initial build. im always trying to find a way to stretch out the seat and handlebars,to make it more comfortable to ride. :D

Well done. I really like how the stem and handlbars flow.

I like the way it turned out. Very clean look to it.

Is it clear-coated?
the bike is clear coated and kept in my living room! :D the texas humidity would have turned it brown by now,if i kept it in my garage! :(
