Snow Ski Sissy Bar

Some of you may have seen me post my idea about making a sissy bar out of snow skis. Well you don't run across snow skis much in Savannah, so I snagged these for $2 Saturday. Turns out I can sell the bindings for about $30 on ebay and the poles for about $15.

I couldn't wait to try out a mock up on my idea. This is just thrown together with some clamps and my Schwinn SS Sport. It would be much better with a longer banana seat so that the sissy bars could slant back at an angle. That plays into another idea I have about making custom length banana seats out of water skis (but that is a whole other mockup sometime in the future).

why don't you make a couple of long tabs to set the angle ya want and bolt one end to seat where the skis would be now then bolt the skis to the other end for the angle ya want? just a thought. I think that would work for ya.

That is a cool idea..I have a ton of old skis and am running out of ways to use them. I have a couple of ski chairs a small ski fence by my hot tub and a ski bench, but no sissy bars.

Gotta love those old volants as well... nothing like a ski made from stainless steel.

That's cool. I didn't realize that was brushed stainless. I thought it was aluminum.
I put the Marker M44 bindings on ebay last night. I'll put the Goode poles on their tonight.
