I stumbled upon this website today that is a photographic journey of abandoned bicycles in New York. I got caught up in the photos and was there for quite a while. Just sharing!

Man that is just painful to look at..each one is just a blank canvas waiting for color...

Well I drive a bus thru the city pretty much everyday and yes these pics are just a taste of what's out there. Plenty of bikes get tacoed or one wheel stolen which leaves the owner that usually doesn't live close stranded..Some people use poles and gates as their storage areas.. So bikes will sit chained up with no intention to ride them. In my opinion vandalizism is responsible for a majority of the bikes being abandoned..

im glad i dont live i NY id have way too many bikes that i shouldnt have
is saving an abandoned bike like the ones with the bent wheels stealing, or liberating the parts
or is it just being eco friendly :? oh well it is a shame
