Soon to be "The Cats Meow" 1953 Schwinn Straight Bar**

I went out for a small photo shoot of my 1953 Schwinn Staright bar, This is what it looks like at the moment but will soon under go a complete make over Ill be swaping out the frame with a 1949 Straight bar to save the patina on this 53 frame, plus New Chrome, New Paint, and the works to the rest of the parts..lol... So I wanted to get a few last shots before I go through with it.

Thank You DonQui, I have it finished in my mind, I know exactly what I want to do with it.. I could tell you its going to be black with white accents, almost a restoration but with a bit of a custom touch

That looks awesome! ...especially for an L.A. bike. Don't see many old ones around here. Just a bunch of fixed gears and Chinese beach cruisers over at USC.

Thanks ScurryMurray, I know exactly what you mean, I live about 15 Minutes east of USC and that is all you see.

ive said it before but, this bike,the way it sits in these photos is hands down the most awesome looking bike ive seen.i just bought my dream straightbar and am using your bike as inspiration as to some of the parts i will be buying for mine..five stars man

i have a question about your springer..i like the look of the flipped yolk at the bottom but when i did it the bracket was not level enough to fit back over the threads on the tube that goes through the headtube..it looks like i would need to bend the bracket so the angle was easier to get over the threads on the inner headtube..(sorry i dont know technical names yet to the parts)what do i have to do to make this setup work for my bike?it is a 1949 straightbar and i just bought a 1952 girls springer for it.so i think they should work together..any help would be appreciated.

i have a question about your springer..i like the look of the flipped yolk at the bottom but when i did it the bracket was not level enough to fit back over the threads on the tube that goes through the headtube..it looks like i would need to bend the bracket so the angle was easier to get over the threads on the inner headtube..(sorry i dont know technical names yet to the parts)what do i have to do to make this setup work for my bike?it is a 1949 straightbar and i just bought a 1952 girls springer for it.so i think they should work together..any help would be appreciated.

Hey thanks for the compliments, you could try leaving everything pretty lose when trying to slide the bracket over the head tube, or just disassemble it, slide the bracket to the head tube and assemble it that way... its pretty uneven on mine also, keep in mind youre adding rake to the fork, I didnt have to modify anything just give it a little muscle and it should work
