I have a 2005 Electra coaster, well that's what is says on the chain guard, and I'm wanting to put a springer fork on it. I measured the head tube at 170mm, what size steering tube would fit without modification? Any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

This Data shows 1 inch head tube. You would still have to measure the length, and research forks once you know. It's probably best to just remove the fork and measure everything and then start shopping.

Thanks for the info. The steering tube measures about 7 3/4 and the longest springer steering tube I found online is 7 5/8, so I'm not sure if that will work. I really don't want to modify something for 1/8th of an inch.

I guess it's all going to depend on how bad you want to put a Springer on.There are threads on here about increasing Steer Tube length and some guys say shave the neck tube.If you do any of that, make sure the Springer isn't a crappy one that you end up hating anyway.

Re: Springer Fork and fenders for an Electra Coaster

Ok, another question, how about fenders? Has anyone put fenders on their Electra Coaster? This bike has one hole on the frame for rear a fender and a lot of the fenders I find have two brackets/braces.

They've got them in their online store..full and stubby:

Their online site has a forum as well, although not nearly as active as this site.

Bikebuyers.com has a fork that has the correct length steerer tube for that frame. Chrome Springer Fork and Black Springer Fork

I have delt with them on occasion and have never had an issue with my orders. Good luck. 8)
