I bought one of those repro cruiser springer forks, you know, the chrome one that's available through every online cruiser bike parts place and fleabay. Many (if not most) of them including mine has a 9-1/2" steerer tube with a large portion of it being threaded, presumably so you can cut-to-fit your head tube length.
My question, is that what really is intended to be done with it, cut-to-fit?
AND, how does that affect the geometry and rake of the front end? I'm trying to visualize it and am struggling.

Thanks

if you cut the steerer down to 7" you will have to cut an inch or so off the top of the fork tubes and struts and re-drill the holes to get the spring angle right again.. I went through that on Meatwads bike.. it turned out fine but I wish I had of got the right size...
