Stardust/krate crank compatibility

I just got an original early 70s stardust for some key parts and am using the sturmy archer 3speed hub/shifter for my krate repop and was wondering if the crank and bearings ect from the stardust would be an easy swap with my krate frame?

You should switch it all over. The threading on the old Schwinn will be different, plus your bearing cups and races should match your bearings.

So all the parts should switch over? Even the bearing cups?

They should. Sometimes older frames had some different sizing so bearing cups would either be tight or loose but Schwinn stayed with the standard size. The other option is to just switch the sprocket from the Stardust over to the repop. No need to switch bearings, cups or races.

The krate was just the frame and springer fork...im putting a lot of parts on the krate from the stardust...Im going swap the crank tonight......
