Starting a New Club?

Anybody have experience starting a bike club? I have very little experience with any club at all. As much as I love the Chicago Taildraggers, they are over 60 miles away. I'd like to get a club going here in the Kankakee area. We have a growing paved park district bike trail that they are adding on to every year. We do have a touring bike style club in the area that have 100 mile rides, but I would like to see a cruiser club that uses our trails has the occasional cookout and just like the Chicago Taildraggers, gets together and builds a bike to raffle and gives the cash to a local charity. I'm thinking of tossing an exploratory post out on Facebook. Maybe a poster at the local bike shop. What do you guys think?

Find people that want to ride first and ride. Just keep inviting until you get enough of a group for a club. Peeps won't join a club unless the fun is all ready happening with out them and they missing out.
