I managed to set aside a few bucks to buy me a few "Christmas bikes"... This one is a late 70s early 80s Murray Monterey off ebay for $100 shipped.. Before you yawn, note the exceptional cleanosity, sweet chrome, and semi rare tan Mesinger seat. But the real stealth factor are the tires. I knew that these early Montereys had NOS/repop Carlisle Lightning dart tires! I knew if I asked the seller if they were or not, someone'd see and snipe it on me. So, I took the gamble and won! Those alone are worth the price of the bike! Bonus that I now have some nice chrome rims, etc, and could still build it up with lesser parts as a rider! Score one for the Tinkerer!!
