Very cool Frame design. I have not seen another like this anywhere so I have no reference for the year, but an educated guess would lead me to say late 50's. I added the chrome fenders, truss rods, Messinger seat with crash bar, flipped the bars and added Hunt Wilde Original white grips. Wheels are Schwinn S-7 white with black pinners and Schwinn Westwind tires. I took it for a blast down the street just before it started to rain and I was impressed. No squeaks or rattles and though I am a bit big for it, it rode nice. Good gearing for inclines. Notice the funky BB and crank mounting. Never seen one quite like it before. The frame design definitely screams Board Tracker with the 'U' shape. I bet an engine would fit right in there! Enjoy!

Funky old bike. I like all the design details to this bike. Your upgrades finish it off perfectly. The loop belly is cool lookin.

i just sold a stelbar last year. i tried to find info about it for years, but could not find anyone that knew a thing about it. i looked into books, sites, etc. what did you find out about it?
the stelbar that i had was painted with a rat rod like piant job of navy blue with silver stars all over the tank and frame. it looked really cool, but finding cups to fit for it was a real chore. this one looks great! i wish i held onto that one now that i see that there are some out there and not some nut job making frames in his garage....(oooooops, i think that i might be a nut job!)

man that looks WAAAAY better than mine! i dont know if ill be able to do anything with the one i got the other day, but ill give it a go sometime!
fast eddie outty
