I don't remember the crank being a problem. I took out the bolts and it came apart when I pulled on it. Actually, everything came apart pretty easily. Yours doesn't look rustier than ours was, but it must be.

I saw that build. Turned out pretty good. Once I used a regular socket, I got the bolts out. From there, the arms were one of the easier parts to get off. Just a couple of bumps with light pressure from the crowbar, turn the crank... do it again. Exterior Allen bolts are a different story though. Dragging out the grinder and Dremel this weekend with a cutting wheel.
