Some of the prices are crazy but there is still good value in them if you get them at the right price. The multi-speed Fastbacks, some of the Krates and the Manta Rays sell for crazy money. All the others can be bought for reasonable prices if you work at the deal. Of course I am talking vintage Schwinns not the POS on that CL ad! JM2C

I'll bet many people buy up things and keep them in the box, and wait 10 years or more hoping for a big sale. Original hotwheels cars from the 60's unopened go a lot of dough.

But this example is just a cardboard box with a cheap bike in it.

Don't open it! The sealed box is worth more than its contents.
In this case, you may be right. I'd estimate the box to be worth about $3 to ship another bike in. I'd put the bike that's in the box at around $2-$2.50. Maybe $2.85 to the right buyer

There's an ad for the exact same thing - still new in the box never assembled - on CL here in Seattle asking $195.
Still high in my opinion but I might forward it to the starry-eyed gold digging dreamer with the crazy-priced one.

I emailed the seller and he is definitely serious.Thinks he really has a rare highly sought after collectors item.
