a junior frame will be shorter in length and the rear wheel was an s-7 instead of s-2, the seat stays are a little tighter. they were still 20" wheel frames though. they also took a 36t sprocket, the later year "normal" stingrays bumped up to 40+ tooth sprockets after 67 i believe, but the juniors would always have a 36t sprocket.

while were on the subject of stingrays, what makes em deluxe?

Fenders and maybe white walls depending on the year I believe. Maybe gears too?

like ratina says ... white walls, fenders. if it was a "deluxe" model, the chainguard would say deluxe on it, even if it was a three speed it would still say deluxe instead of "stik/shift" on 3's. earlier than 66 deluxe models had the reverse screen on the chainguard. i dont think ive ever seen a deluxe five speed though with a deluxe chainguard.

just my experience with them anyway

ok so what makes this one deluxe
fenders? and the deluxe printed on the chainguard? ( 1969 i believe)

obviously the forks and cream paint are not original.(had the flat fok with small wheel and fender-black tractor grip tires front and back)
no signs of a shifter mounted on the frame.

This was my 67 coppertone deluxe, I added the light, bell, valve caps and mirror, otherwise it was all original down to the tires.

Heres a junior frame stingray, notice how the "tank area" is a bit different and the seat tube and seat stays are a bit different than the full size stingray.

the first stingrays had the shorty frames, like up until 65 i believe, i dont know for sure if there was a difference in the rear seat stay widths though between a regular stingray with a shorty frame and a "junior" frame. i believe the junior frame was the same frame used for 20" typhoons though which was a middleweight. all i know is the junior frames ive had, a full size stingray fender didnt want to fit in the rear.

Is there a diff between a regular stingray frame and I shorty Stingray frame or am I getting this mixed up with a junior/typhoon frame?
Is the junior frame same as a runabout or did that use a Stingray frame?

yup theres a difference, the length of the top tube, height of the seat tube and the shape of the tank area made by the seat stays will be different between the two.

the runabout was made for 16" wheels so its a different frame size all together

there was also a stingray midget with 16" wheels but its also different from a runabout, the midget used a 36t sprocket and the runabout used a larger mag sprocket (it had longer chain stays to clear the bigger sprocket). also the midget will just have a plain fender bridge since they were all coaster models while the runabout will have a brake mount bridge since they used hand brakes.
