I have a 1965 Sting-Ray and a member said it was a shorty frame :roll: What is that :?:

if you hold your frame next to one that has the mag srocket you'll see the difference

Its shorter by a couple of inches and has the small lucky seven sprocket where as the bigger ones had the mag sprocket.

Biggest difference the junior has the smaller sprocket with 7 holes ,and the bigger frame has the mag style.

The chain guards will be different lengths. Only small sprockets will fit on the shorty frame, and the cranks might be shorter too, I'm not sure on that. Otherwise everything else should fit

Bigger crank will probably hit the ground unless other mods happen.

I must have a '65 junior stingray, it came with a mag sprocket on it and a extension bar to move the chain guard away from the sprocket, so I just bought a lucky seven sprocket and crank on this forum to fix the problem. The frame looks to be the same size as my Black Fri. Bike

How can I tell if it is a junior or shorty frame ? It is a '65 coppertone with a stingray chainguard.

Also how can you tell you have a Stingray and not another boys schwinn when you don't have the chainguard?
