Re: Spaceliner Newbie!

Many other parts have been painted.

Newbie mistake painting EVERYTHING! I need to learn to like chrome.

and then I plan on pinstriping.

Re: Spaceliner Newbie!

I'm not sure if this will turn out well but I said I was trying to be cheap and trying to be creative, so this is where I stand with that frame insert. my plan was to make it out of metal and punch some holes in it and wrap it to the frame with some wire. I then decided to glue washers to the metal and give it a pop rivet kind of look. Not 100% sure I like it but that's where I'm headed.

Re: Spaceliner Newbie!

Thank you! I've been working on a headlight and I hope it will turn out cool. I
Hope to post some pictures tomorrow.

Re: Spaceliner Newbie!

Nice kickstand by the way!

Re: Spaceliner Newbie!

Glad to see you jumping back in. You call yourself a newb, but you have a ton of cool ideas. I predict that this build is gonna rock!!!!
I guarantee that people will steal (I mean borrow) the washer rivet look at some point.

Re: Spaceliner Newbie!

Well I decide to put together a LOW budget head light for my bike. so I used these three items.
1. Gatorade bottle -$1.25
2. Mini Flash Light from Harbor Freight - $1.99
3. Bicycle Reflector Bracket
and some hardware and paint.

I took the cap and hacked a hole to fit in the mini flash light.

I cut the bottle in half and also cut a notch for the bracket to go inside the bottle. drilled 2 holes to attach the bottle.

Nice headlight, it never occurred to me to do that but I can see many Gatorade bottles being cut up in my future.
