26tpi (threads per inch) on 3/8 front axles with bolts (not quick release)

24tpi rear with coaster brakes 3/8 bolt on axles

There are no stupid questions my friend. I wish I had asked more of them before runing several projects.

There are plenty of stupid questions. That wasn't one, however. You can buy an inexpensive plastic gauge sheet at Lowe's or Home Depot that you can gauge pitches with. Makes it a lot easier than guessing.

....and if anyone finds 24tpi dies in 1" (or any for that matter) diameter, get them. The only ones I have ever seen are bike specific tools and they are big $$$$.

You can get a die and handle from Enco Mfg. Co., Chicago. The die, 1-24 UNS is part number 314-2174. The die stock handle is part number 318-2013. I can't remember what I paid for them but it wasn't unreasonable. I've used them on several forks and they work fine. Gary

I got caught on that 26-24 thread thing. I thought I would go crazy finding the right nut. It makes sense now where the nut came from. Thanks for that tid bit.
