Not sure either one of us can afford it. I'm not even close
to being finished and I'm at about $475. Custom doesn't
come cheap. LOL!

Ok while I'm waiting on parts, I'm getting a few other things
done. I cleaned up the front drum brake and got it painted.
Looks brand new.

Yeah I forgot you're in Texas where snow is an urban legend.
Yeah about December when you are digging out your snow related
gear ....We are still mowing the grass.
Got my Torq-A-Verter. Would have to mount the motor way over
to one side to have it line up. Will have to get me a jack shaft kit
for sure. Poop!

Ok ordered a Jackshaft. It ought to be here in two days.
That go cart place got me my TAV in two days to my door.
So my front tire shipped from Amazon today. No telling when
it will get her. Got plenty of time to clean and paint parts.
Moving right along. May go broke and have to come out of
retirement but am having fun.

Glad you are having fun Uncle Stretch! I was at a motorcycle wreckers looking for parts for another build yesterday and they had a trike front end the same as the one you are using, almost made him an offer so I could build one of these too! Then I thought about motors and jackshafts and started adding up the $$$'s...

Yeah Luke the parts add up. But not doing anything was sending me
to the hospital several times thinking something is wrong. It was $400
a pop each time ,and I went 5 times. So doing this keeps me sane and
so far I haven't had time to worry about my health. Got a little sore
but am so busy trying to figure out this silly thing, I am better than
watching TV. Up to $528 LOL!

I'm still trying to figure out if the TAC would require me to cut into this Doodlebug frame of mine. At some point I saw a guy making all of these frame modifications to install one and I wasn't sure if it had to be done or he was just going overboard.
It has all those holes and looks like you could turn it a bunch
of different ways. If you lift it up from where mine is ,it hits the
motor. I saw them grind down a couple fins on the back to use
it in that position. It will go down one set of holes on mine and
looks like it would clear the chainstay better like that. Might have
to cut your motor mount plate. I'm going to narrow mine a bunch
tomorrow when can get my friend to chop it with his machine. I
know using the jack shaft will stop several of my problems.

Got my friend to shear my motor plate down. Then drilled
the mounting holes and mounted the motor. Still need to
weld the plate to my frame. Its just tacked and now that its
right, I can weld it up.

Had to build a piece to weld on to my fork to stop the
front drum from spinning. It turned out good, and its one
more thing done.

Its funny , this wheel and drum brake was already on this fork.
I can't believe how much fabricating it takes to just make what
Honda used ,work for me. Oh well gives me something to do. I
have to think ,now how did they hook up that part. lol

I know....I know....anybody can weld.
It's just awesome to know that just about any obstacle you might run into when doing this kind of stuff can be solved with a little fabrication work. I on the hand would be thinking all along...how much is this gonna cost me to have someone do this.

Yeah it comes in handy. I run to my fab friends shop all the time.
What takes me 30 minutes to cut and fabricate, his machines will
do in minutes. Took me 15 minutes to drill two holes in some 3/16ths
plate. He has a punch that popped both of them in seconds. I love
really heavy duty machines. His big shear is awesome.Weighs about
10 tons though.

Yeah, that would not be nice! Honestly, pretty sure I would find it far too frustrating to build bikes without the opportunity to cut and weld it to make it work... How you guys do it is beyond me...
