On a Sturmey Archer AW 3 speed hub, what is the smallest tooth count possible for a cog? Did they even make a selection of differently sized cogs for these hubs, or were they all of one size? Any help would be appreciated... I've got an SA Three speed AW wheel that I would really like to snap a smaller cog onto if possible (I didn't count the teeth on the current cog, but it looked to have about 18 or 19 teeth?).

They usually come with the smallest possible sprocket, usually an 18t.

If some one makes a smaller one I haven't seen it yet.
Apparently the English have a thing for mashing!

I think Sturmey Archer came w/17-22t hub sprockets,19 and 20 being the most common. I have a 16 from something that fits, but i've never seen one that small that was original. There are 2 sizes of mounting hole, I think the SA is the larger size, so they won't all fit. If I got it backwards, they will mount, but are sloppy. The one I have isn't dished far enough to be in chain line on one of those bikes, i.e., it's flat, but for custom apps flat will work.
