Thanks all, guess this one passed through and by a few pretty fast. :D

I detailed the frame, tank, and fork a few minutes ago. Should have the whole thing done today, all that's left is the wheels, fenders, carriers, all other chrome pieces and to clean and repack the bearings.

The original plan was to pull the coaster brake out of the rear and re-lace it back up with an SA 3 speed Coaster, but I'm not sure if that will happen. For now, I'm going to clean it up and ride it as is for a little while - just until I know for sure what I want to do with it... I don't really need another bike at the moment, but I'm getting to like this one pretty fast, so currently it looks like it's staying but I'm not sure. Any modifications made will be very minor because of how mostly stock the bicycle currently is. I do plan on using some early style krate bow pedals and a spaceliner pleated crashrail seat, possibly black pointed end grips, ww tires. Not much will change beyond that, with the exception of my possibly hooking it up with a three speed. The kickstand definitely needs immediate attention- I plan on rebuilding it completely, hopefully with NOS parts.

I'd be interested in hearing about your success with the kickstand rebuild. I have a few Columbias with that model kickstand and I've never seen parts offered anywhere.......
Come to think of it, I've never had one apart.

Yeah, should be fun, I've never fixed one either. I will start a build thread later today when it is all cleaned up and will definitely post the kickstand repair up when it's done during the build...

Yup, this bike is making the rounds. The dual headlight is what sold me on it. When I looked into it, I was pretty sure it was a FIrebolt, but who knows. You other guys should know that this bike originally had red pedals and a red/white seat. A few red accents made it look cool. Also, it does NOT have a horn in the tank, but a push button bell!

Anyway, I was gonna fix this one up and ride it, but just never got around to it. Chris's Jet Flow project called to me so I had to part with something.

I had no idea the battery tray was corroded. I never even opened the thing. It sat in my basement for the whole summer untouched. I did however buy a new set of tires for it, which Chris also has now. Also, I can't imagine the kickstand it too hard to fix. Worst case is you have to fab a little tab or roll pin to fix it. With your metal working skill, I have no doubt you can do it!

What great luck finding that guard!!! I looked for several months for the proper one and came up empty.

Oh ya I remember now! From now on, when I see something I like.... Im buying it. No more second guessing! Great Score

Glenn,

You should have seen the red and white Road Master I didn't buy at Jim's show for $150. Yeah, I turned around and it was gone. What was I thinking? :(

Then you know what I mean! Never again

Oh yeah, I know. It's like when you see an ad on CL for a bike that seems to good to be true, so you don't bother to respond. Then some guy named Glenn winds up buying it instead.

I propose a "No Crossing State Lines" rule when surfing CL.

Well, it's all cleaned up, I just have to clean a basket I want to use on it and find a seat & pedals and clean my chainguard when it arrives and it's 100% done. Should be in the gallery soon.
