Super short bars...

Has anybody ever chopped down a set of handle bars so they are very short? I'm talking about less than 20 inches of overall length? Or even shorter? nothing but grips?

I use to do it back in the 70's on my chopper bikes. I'd use the longest neck I could find, almost 24" if I remember right, and cut the bars down, so the grips where all you saw. No pictures though. I have two bikes now with cut down apes on them. Here's pictures of them.

I have a pair of cruiser handlebars from a kid's bike, and they look really close to what Big Fat Whitewalls has on his bikes. I don't know what they came off of, though. I probably will flip them on a track bike or something. 8)

I had a set of risers on a fixed gear a while ago and they were around 14" wide. They look cool but they make the bike handle super twitchy.
