tank on a stingray?

so i was looking at my local bike shop to see if the owner had any junkers, but he did not..

however he gave me a tank saying that it would fit my stingray, i had my doubts, but free is free

it doesnt really match up to my frame on the stingray, any ideas what bike its for?
