It was a nice day yesterday......had to break out the fleet, catch some rays.....

and now, just the twins by themselves.....on the left 1964 Western Flyer Sonic Flyer with a Sturmey Archer 3 speed, on the right, 1964 Sears Flyer with a Shimano Nexus 7. Both made by Murray. Was going to strip and repaint them both, but the Mrs. has convinced me to leave them in their original state/ patina. After cleaning them up and putting them out in the sun, as always, she's right. I think the Sears model will get some whitewalls soon.

Thanks! I have 2 more Monark Tankers I am working on...pics to come when done.

Great looking middleweights! I rode my Jetfire X-64 to work yesterday. Sorry for the crappy (inverted) picture. Notice the customers dog sniffing around the rear wheel.

SCHWEET. I LOVE middleweight Buck Rogers-type tank bikes. I'm trying to build a newer Murray beach cruiser into a faux Spaceliner tank-type thing... trying to fake a reasonable facsimile of a tank, but it's kinda tough...

Thanks to all, and Dangler......your Edsel Wagon is the sickest! very sweeeeet!

Yes.....shifter cables are a bit "lengthy".......was considering ape hangers down the road.......didn't want to have to recable.....AGAIN!! LOL

RATS! My ex-wife made sure I have no $$$ for cars anymore......it's why I'm into bikes. Hope it finds a good home!

I agree completely. By the looks of your chainring and the "darts" on the ends of your chainstays, I would say you have a nice Murray built tanker! I love that front rack. Still trying to find one in decent shape! Does your light work? All mine, after restoring the battery boxes, live again.

i actually got this one for a template for a late spaceliner to early flightliner project, its surprisingly hard to find one of these frames around here with the curved double top tubes. The tank works but the switch needs reattached to the switch opening (previous owner rewired it and cleaned all the guts up) it is missing the lens tho  hopefully this bike will get to stay in one piece !!! if not, the rack may be up for grabs
