You know that house you drive by every day or even every now and again for how many years now? And at this house there is tons of neat "stuff" like old signs, old rusty equipment, a Model A doodlebug buried under old roofing and lawnmowers, there might possibly stuff from outer space. What is obvious is that the owner is a collector, what they are collecting may be hard to determine. This is the place you're always rubber necking it to see if there are any bikes poking out of the piles but you never see any.

Go knock on that door, this week

It's too dark for photos but I'll get them up. Almost came home with a pet fox, but that's another story. :D

Re: That house

Got some stuff, met an interresting guy, talked about nothing for 2 hours, got to look at the largest collection of antique signs I have ever seen (including yours KZ1000), and wander around 50 years worth of neat metal stuff; hit-miss engines, antique cement mixers, snowmobile parts, wrought iron benches, wagon parts, tools, old oil cans, hub caps, metal, metal metal. Might go back with the wife and look at a lightpost later on.

He's also got a fox family living under his barn so I kept turning around to find a tiny fox pup looking at me (not legal as pets in NH, i checked).

Re: That house

my grandpa had that house for the longest time, always loved his backyard. old car parts, bikes, signs, just old stuff period. he passed away, and we had to clean up  we threw away 12" rim scooters with wood decks, old signs, people broke in and stole most of the bikes (there was a good 20 to 25, we have 5 now) then someone lit the garage and second house on fire. so those went. now it just looks like a house with a huge un attached porch where the house and garage and shop was. and all thats left is five bikes my family always argues over, and abunch of rusty mid 70's junk. wish i was . . .more addicted then.

that's a shame Snydur. I guess saving some artifacts is better than none at all.
honestly, its going to soundweird, b i reallly wanted thescooters. there was probably 10 or 12, wood skateboard dcks, enought to make a load to the scrap yard. i think theres afew huffman tank bikes but theyr girls ones. and two diamond frame bikes. one schwinn, and one from italy. the italian bik is scarily intact minus the tires.

the other house is directly behind mine. theres a huge sams club sized shop that hasent been opened in years. but what leads me to excitemnt is there is a smaller shed full of old motorcycles and car parts. i can see those. my dad told me the guy owned motrcyle shop, and that was his workshop. i should go meet him.

OK here is what I came home with
Prewar Westfield with a nice deco stem, triple step rims! Someone rode this not too long ago, tires are newish. Fenders are a perfect match to the ones I picked up last Sunday. do you think the down tube is bent or factory? Seems like an odd place to bend, I'd figure it to bend below the headtube, forks look fine..
