Got my 57 Schwinn in the other day from fellow member Simpleman, thanks again, awesome bike. Had a few parts layin around so through it together and man she's sweet! Not really era correct but I don't care about all that, "I've got a 1957 Schwinn!!" Also, made a new best friend today,... Mobil 1 Full Synthetic Grease, I have a brand new coaster rear and it was noisy, rubbing and clickin, cheap, cheap, cheap. Reading over on Sheltons bike page about coasters, "Grease is a coaster hubs best friend, grease generously!!" tore it apart and packed it full of this synthetic grease and it is the smoothest and quietest rolling coaster I have ever had. Super happy with the setup so far, really nice solid bike. Hate to say it but gonna be takin er back down and doin a full custom professional paint on it, base/clear urethane. Here she is in all her glory! :D

Man that bike gets around and looks better and better each time it has a new owner. That bike started with me then went to my friend Oz then he sold it to Jeff [Simpleman] now to you. cant wait to see the custom paint job.

Thats cool, bet this one would have a story to tell, :) I think she's found her final owner, i'm really liking it alot, thanks for the good words fellas.

Original paint is good and I like it and understand all the patina, age, stuff, but don't let anyone slam on the brakes and discourage you from painting it the way you see it in your dreams. Creativity beats what everyone else has every time in my book. I do like it the way it sits, but looking forward to your custom treatment.

Thanks for the tip on the Mobile 1 Grease. That's my next purchase.

Thanks, yea I have found a source for the thin white frame and fork darts, and the old round Chicago decals, I would like to make it basicly look like a new 57 Tornado. As for the grease I have been re-packing all of my coasters with it and truly is amazing stuff. I found last night that one of my coasters was missing a ball out of one of the inner bearings and it gave me a chance to replace that and re-pack it.
