Ignaz Schwinn brought the 26 X 2.125 balloon tire to the US from Germany and started using it in 1933. Gary
Here's a 1941 Westfield-built Elgin, working on getting the stoplight/taillight rack working. Looks like way back a kid put some water-slide decals from a plastic model onto it.

ya know....you are a really talented builder....The rides
are just be-utiful.....I love building modern, light wheels and putting them on old
rides as well. (not all of them) A smart way to make em ride fast.
DB wheelsmiths/Alloy nips/400 gram 559iso rims(mavic preferred) skinwall tires and hold on tight....smoooooth....
