Garret and I had to leave Taber behind today...

^^^^^ Note walking boot on Tabers foot... Small broken bone in his ankle from football practice. :shock: won't be riding for three weeks.

So very cool, guys and gals!

I'm an ex-Chicagoan (if there is such a thing!!!), formerly of North and Oakley, Logan Square, Lincoln-Belmont, Clark-Fullerton areas...left in '79 for California, lived in SoCal for 24 years, now in SF these last 10.

It's amazing to visit Chicago when I can (a couple of times a year lately), but to see the street scenes in this thread really hammered home just how Chicago has changed (for the better, from what I can see...) since I left.

Oh, yeah, I'm also recently into bikes again after owning my share of Monarks and Schwinns of many descriptions back when they were new. Yep, I'm old.

Nowadays I'm building a Whizzer-powered board tracker (frame out for powder-coating) and have a couple of other Schwinn fat-tired Phantom projects and a Corvette midweight in process, too. I've also been bitten by the racing bug and own two steel lugged Colnagos and a shaft-drive Fendt along with a mixte French something or other of WWII vintage.

I'll post some stuff eventually. May I request an honorary membership in the Taildraggers?
