So I think I've finally finished designing this thing. This is my third attempt at creating a wooden bicycle. I was hoping to be able to reuse some of the bending forms from my previous attempts but it's different enough that none of them will work. I'm pretty excited about the shape and engineering solutions I've come up with. This time I'm going to do away with any of the steam bending and i've also eliminated trying to glue the metal parts to the wood. I put a lot of thought into trying to make this as easy as possible to build and still be strong, functional and beautiful. There's only a little bit of welding and lathe work to do. I really hope I can pull this off, I'm super excited to see how it will ride. It will have some front and rear suspension in addition to a suspended seatpost. Should be a fun ride.

I didn't make any actual progress on the bike tonight but I did this mock up because I was having trouble visualizing one little part of the bike. This area where the "seat post" and the top tube separate was difficult to draw and I wasn't sure if it was going to look awkward. Before I went through the process of laminating all this wood I wanted to make sure it was going to work and that the sequence of operations was correct. I was relieved to see It pretty much looks just like I was picturing it.
